BEST PRACTICES IN HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENT DATA WAREHOUSING FORUM
At
Northwestern University
October 20-21, 2003

A forum for establishing a set of best practices for guiding the development of higher education reporting on student data.

Introduction
The Best Practices in Higher Education Student Data Warehousing Forum was held Monday and Tuesday, October 20 and 21, 2003, at Northwestern University.

Mission
To gain a broader understanding of best practices in data warehousing in higher education, especially as it relates to student data and to synthesize the "best practices" in an effort to share useful information with the higher education community via conferences and publications.

Outcome
A collection of best practice data mart models (e.g. ERDs), mappings (source to target and other metadata), organizational methods and training. This information could then be presented at the HEUG Conference in March 2004 and at other conferences, as well as providing the groundwork for a team authored publication.
