Andrews University Computing Committees

 

The three computing committees operating at Andrews University are:

 

Changes are occurring in the nature of the work each of these committees.

 

The Academic Computing Committee spent some time a year ago reviewing and restating its charter.  Developments since then, such as the formation of the Distributed Education Council, the planning work done by the PlanET group, the Lilly Grant for technology in the Seminary, and others suggest that the role of this committee may need to be reviewed again in a larger context.

Charge or Mission

The Computing Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) will advise the Associate Vice President for University Information Services and Director of Academic and Information Technology Services (AITS) on technology service matters; provide AITS with feedback on its performance and progress as well as make suggestions for change and improvement of services; provide input to the Provost's Main Campus Planning Committee and the Vice President for Information Services and CIO's other advisory committees, including suggesting and recommending services and capital expenditures, and providing guidance for setting priorities. The Computing Services Advisory Committee will be affiliated with the Teaching, Learning and Technology Roundtable (TLTR) as well as being a part of the UIS advisory structure.

 

Bucknell University

The Administrative Computing Committee (ACC) is charged with making policy recommendations concerning the administrative computing and networking support functions of Information Services & Resources (ISR). ACC also provides advice as appropriate to ISR, and/or the Administrative Council. ACC is responsible through the Associate Vice President for Information Services and Resources to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Administrative Council.

The Administrative Computing Committee (ACC) is charged with making policy recommendations concerning the administrative computing and networking support functions of Information Technology Services (ITS).  ACC also provides ITS with feedback on its performance and progress as well as makes suggestions for change and improvement of services; provides input to the Campus Master Planning Committee and the Chief Information Officer's (CIO’s) other advisory committees, including suggesting and recommending services and capital expenditures, and providing guidance for setting priorities.  ACC is responsible through the Chief Information Officer to the President.
